following Jesus

What does it mean to follow Jesus?

When I was growing up it meant: “Don’t smoke, chew, or go with girls who do.”  It was just a list of “do’s” and “don’ts” that some people were good at keeping and some weren’t. 

Fortunately, we have the New Testament (written by the first followers and friends of Jesus) to help us understand what it really means to be in relationship with Jesus, because following Jesus means we are walking with him as friends and learning from him as we go.
